Preparatory Music

Suzuki students from all over the Bay Area perform their book graduation pieces to celebrate the completion of each level of performance and musicianship. Free and open to the public.

Preparatory Music students perform a variety of favorite music from movies, Broadway shows, and animé in costume. This is a family favorite year after year. Tickets are $10 adults and $5 students and seniors, available at the door.

String and piano students compete in this annual competition for the opportunity to perform a solo concerto work accompanied by the Holy Names University Orchestra on February 23, 2020. Free and open to the public.

Preparatory Music students of Divisi and Da Capo Orchestras and Preludio Violin perform works they have polished over the semester. Also featuring performance of Kodaly musicianship skills learned with Kodaly expert Minami Cohen. Tickets $5 adults and $3 students and seniors

Preparatory Music piano and chamber music students perform works they have polished over the semester. Includes piano ensemble works for 8-10 pianos and string quartet repertoire. Tickets $5 adults and $3 students and seniors.

Winners of the concerto competition held in January perform concerti accompanied by the Holy Names University Orchestra. Tickets are $10 adults and $5 students and seniors, available at the door.

Suzuki students and teachers from all over the East Bay gather to perform favorite pieces together on the big stage at Holy Names. All levels welcome, from open string beginners to advanced players. Free and open to the public, although registration fee charged for performers to participate.
