Students register through Preparatory Music at Holy Names University. Most lessons are given on the Holy Names University campus, although some instructors teach their Prep Music students locally in their home studios.
Enrichment Classes and Ensembles
Playing with others is an essential part of developing one’s musicianship. Ensembles provide a social experience (fostering friendship and community among students and parents), as well as build musical skills such as leading and following, listening, watching, blending, and being a soloist.
Group classes and orchestras are offered for all students once they have gained some basic proficiency on their instrument and meet weekly throughout the fall and spring semesters. Students from beginner to advanced gain the experience of playing in a group through the use of various repertoire and ensemble music that complements their private study. There are at least two performance opportunities per semester. To see our offerings, please visit our classes page.
