A native of Okinawa, Japan, Minami holds a B.A. in Music Education with Vocal Performance Emphasis from the University of the Ryukyus in Okinawa, Japan, and a Master of Music degree with a Kodaly Emphasis from Holy Names University in Oakland. Minami is a music teacher at public schools in Hayward, Ca., where she teaches grades K through 4 vocal music, directs choirs, and mentors early-career teachers. She celebrates cultural diversity in the Bay Area and enjoys collaborating with colleagues and families to build community through music. She currently serves as a president-elect for Northern California Association for Kodaly Educators.
